Afrojack shares update after car accident leaves windscreen pierced by metal object
Afrojack has shared an update after being involved in an accident where a metal object pierced the windscreen of the car he was travelling in. The Dutch artist has spoken publicly on the incident, calling it a brush with disaster.
Crucially, no one was injured. Afrojack was on the 3000 Gumball Rally route, which runs from Miami to Mexico City, on Monday 8th June when a large metal object struck and penetrated the vehicle’s windscreen in front of him.
Notably, the DJ had performed at the rally’s official launch party at DAER Nightclub in Miami the night before. He was in the car with fellow DJ and content creator Vikkstar at the time of the incident.
Furthermore, Afrojack turned to social to process the moment. In an Instagram post, he likened the incident to the horror film franchise Final Destination. “Sometimes life sends me a reminder of how lucky I am to be here,” he wrote. “This was the scariest thing I’ve ever seen.”
Meanwhile, he expressed deep gratitude. “Blessed with my family, blessed with my friends, and blessed with breathing. Thanks for this life, lets go get more life and more music!” he added. Indeed, he also thanked his driver Nick for “not crashing the car after the Final Destination moment,” along with his team and the Hard Rock crew for helping them make it to the finish line.
Equally, Afrojack thanked his wife, Elettra Lamborghini, calling her “always there for me even in the scariest moments.” Still, the wider context shows just how active a year he’s having. Earlier this year, Afrojack debuted a collaboration with David Guetta and Sia, ‘Awake Tonight’, at Ultra 2026. In short, the moment is a serious reminder of how close to disaster life on the road can come.
