Carl Cox announces summer DJ set at Croatia’s 2,000-year-old Cave Romane

Carl Cox will perform a DJ set inside a 2,000-year-old quarry in Croatia this summer. The UK dance music icon takes over the ancient Cave Romane, located near Pula in Istria, on 7th August as part of a summer programme of electronic music events curated by BSH Events.

Crucially, the setting is one of the most remarkable on the European circuit. Cave Romane is a former Roman-era quarry that has been carefully transformed into a natural amphitheatre. As a result, the venue lends itself to immersive, large-scale productions in a way few outdoor spaces can match.

Notably, bespoke visual installations by production company Highscream will accompany the show. The set kicks off at 10PM local time. Furthermore, BSH Events has already lined up another major name for the venue earlier in the season, with Amelie Lens set to headline Cave Romane on 3rd July.

Meanwhile, the booking sits inside a packed summer for Carl Cox. His residency at UNVRS Ibiza begins on 21st June, and throughout the season he’ll go back-to-back with David Guetta, Joseph Capriati and The Martinez Brothers, among others. Indeed, guest appearances from Richie Hawtin, Skepta and Honey Dijon are also lined up.

Equally, Cox‘s wider 2026 has already been busy. In January he released a remix of James Brown‘s 1968 classic ‘Say It Loud, I’m Black & I’m Proud’, and his three-deck vinyl opening sets across The Prodigy‘s UK and Ireland arena tour drew major buzz.

Still, the Cave Romane set lands as one of his most distinctive 2026 bookings. In short, the combination of ancient setting, modern production and the booth in Carl Cox‘s hands makes this a serious summer highlight.
