Gorillaz made a surprise on-stage appearance with Bad Bunny in London over the weekend. The crossover came during the UK leg of the Puerto Rican global superstar's 'Debí Tirar Más Fotos' world tour at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 28th June, just days after the iconic British animated band had headlined the same venue on 20th June in support of their latest album, 'The Mountain'.
The two acts performed their collaborative track ‘Tormenta’, taken from the British band’s 2023 LP ‘Cracker Island’, and a rendition of the classic ‘Clint Eastwood’, which saw the Puerto Rican artist delivering the rap verses in Spanish. The unexpected guest spot lit up the stadium and instantly became one of the most-talked-about live moments of the European tour run.
The collaboration sits at the centre of one of the most genre-blurring crossover stories in modern music. The British band have spent two decades operating across electronic, hip-hop, rock, dub and global music, while the Puerto Rican artist has fundamentally reshaped what mainstream pop and reggaeton can sound like on the world’s biggest stages.
Hearing ‘Clint Eastwood’ reinterpreted with the Puerto Rican star delivering its iconic verses entirely in Spanish was the kind of cross-cultural live moment fans will remember for years.
