Roger Sanchez releases ‘Spectrum’, his first studio album in 20 years: Listen

Roger Sanchez‘s first studio album in 20 years is officially out. ‘Spectrum’ is here, and the Grammy-winning house legend has just confirmed the new focus track: ‘How Do We Say Goodbye’, a collaboration with topline favourite Karen Harding.

Crucially, the album is six years in the making. Roger Sanchez built most of ‘Spectrum’ during time spent in Shoreditch, London. As a result, the record carries euphoric UK summer sonic influences across its diverse runtime.

Notably, Roger framed the project’s range in his own words. “I’ve been working on this for the past six years, so it’s definitely a labour of love. During that time I got the chance to travel around the world and work with some amazing vocalists and songwriters. I’ve got flavours from the UK, Spain, the US, all of this is part of the spectrum. This project is about music and frequencies and light: everything from the soulful to the club-ready infrared, the emotionally-weighted ultraviolet. That’s what ‘Spectrum’ is all about for me.”

Meanwhile, the new focus track ‘How Do We Say Goodbye’ stands as a major album highlight. Karen Harding‘s vocal class brings both an irresistible hook and a touching sense of nostalgia, while Roger‘s production ascends from a trance-like ambience into an electrifying drop. Furthermore, Karen has previously worked with MNEK, Armand Van Helden, Rudimental and Wilkinson.

Indeed, the album previously rolled out across three high-energy singles. ‘Grinnin’ with Fedde Le Grand, ‘Come My Way’ and ‘Temptation’ with Low Steppa ft. Ragdoll all set the table for the full record. Equally, ‘Spectrum’ features Melanie C, Kele Le Roc, Chico Castillo, Kelli-Leigh, Carnao Beats, Donae’O and more across its tracklist.

Equally, the vinyl release is locked. ‘Spectrum’ arrives on red transparent triple-vinyl from June 26. The vinyl package is designed for collectors and professional DJs alike, completed by an exclusive limited edition signed artcard and a download code for an unreleased bonus track. Beyond the release, Roger is taking ‘Spectrum’ on the road all summer. His Flower Power residency at the iconic Pacha Ibiza features special guests spanning house heavyweights, album collaborators and rising talents. Furthermore, the calendar runs through major European festivals, Hacienda Classical sets in the UK, and major club appearances.
