Charlotte de Witte teases ‘history-making’ XXL version of ‘The Resistance’ show at Rock Werchter
Belgium’s biggest techno export is about to deliver a set for the ages in her home country. Charlotte de Witte x Rock Werchter is officially locked in for 3 July — and according to the artist herself, the show inside The Barn’s 20,000-capacity tent will be a “history-making” XXL version of her acclaimed ‘The Resistance’ audiovisual show, unveiling something never seen or done before at any previous stop on the tour.
An XXL ‘Resistance’ unveiled in her home country
‘The Resistance’ has already left a mark in 2026. The show premiered at [UNVRS] Ibiza, and has since travelled to We Love Green in Paris and Sónar Festival in Barcelona, drawing standing ovations at each stop. But when it lands at Rock Werchter this Friday, it will hit an entirely different scale. Preparations kicked off three weeks ahead of the show, and the Belgian superstar has been teasing footage from early ‘The Resistance’ dates as a taste of what’s in store — audio-reactive light, immersive visuals and a stage design pushed to the maximum for the 20,000 heads inside The Barn.
The show’s jaw-dropping visual identity is the work of digital artist and creative technologist Johanna Jaskowska, renowned for pushing the boundaries between technology and visual culture through AR, AI, CGI and photography. From viral AR experiences to speculative digital worlds, her portfolio is a perfect match for the sonic language of a Charlotte de Witte set.
After Rock Werchter, ‘The Resistance’ continues to Les Ardentes, Bilbao BBK, V and B Festival and Pagaille Festival — the latest run in what has already been a huge 2026 for de Witte, including her recent ‘Amor’ EP, her Deluxe Album release, and the now-legendary Genova street party attended by thousands. The Barn is going to be one to remember.
