Madonna releases first album in seven years ‘Confessions II’ featuring Martin Garrix collab: Listen

The Queen of Pop is officially back, and dance music got a front-row invite. Madonna has released her long-awaited new album ‘Confessions II’, her first full-length record in seven years, and among its most talked-about moments is a full collaboration with Martin Garrix. The track, titled ‘Bizarre’, arrives nearly two decades after her original ‘Confessions on a Dance Floor’ era, and it puts her firmly back on the dancefloor.

‘Bizarre’ layers Garrix‘s pulsing production and shimmering synths beneath Madonna’s effortlessly cool vocal delivery. It is a very different beast to the disco revival that defined the original ‘Confessions on a Dance Floor’, but the same instinct is there. Notably, Garrix has been steadily moving into pop crossover for years, with previous team-ups alongside Dua Lipa, Bebe Rexha and Troye Sivan.

Speaking on the collaboration, Garrix admitted he was “starstruck” when the two met in New York to record. “Very grateful to be a little part of this,” he wrote in a public post, before calling the finished album “crazy”. Meanwhile, he already gave ‘Bizarre’ its first live outing at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, catching the crowd completely off guard when he dropped the unreleased track.
