Skrillex & Solomun drop long-awaited first collab ‘Rumpta’ via Diynamic: Listen

Two of electronic music’s most ferocious forces just linked up. Skrillex and Solomun have officially released their first-ever collaborative single, ‘Rumpta’, out now via Solomun’s Diynamic label. The release lands right around their much-hyped back-to-back at Pacha Ibiza, part of Solomun’s famed +1 residency, giving the track a real dancefloor moment across the summer.

Rumpta blends Skrillex’s edge with Solomun’s Ibiza house instincts

Built around house-inspired vocals and a peak-time groove, ‘Rumpta’ brings Skrillex‘s detailed, hard-edged production style right into Solomun’s club-focused world. The Fader described the track as “Ibiza Industrial”, noting how the vocals punctuate the drops while synth textures pad out the atmosphere. It is a slightly darker, slightly heavier sound than a typical Solomun cut, but it fits perfectly into the neon-lit dancefloors of an Ibiza summer.

The collaboration follows months of the two DJs teasing the track in their live sets, ever since their b2b performance at last year’s Solomun +1 in Ibiza. Meanwhile, Skrillex is coming off a huge run of his own, having released his latin-rooted surprise album ‘SOMA’ in June and launched his new global music platform CONTRA in Berlin. Solomun, for his part, is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Diynamic Music this year.
