Amelie Lens and Sara Landry played their first-ever UK back-to-back set on Friday, taking over Magazine Open-Air in Greenwich, London on 21 August. The two-hour show topped a bill that also featured SPFDJ, Dax J, DJ Hyperactive and Grace Dahl.
The night started with a hiccup. After Amelie Lens and Sara Landry took over from SPFDJ, their opening track was interrupted by crackling from the sound system before the audio cut out completely. Landry addressed the crowd directly, telling them: “We’re having a technical issue, we’re gonna get it fixed and then we’ll be back with you.”
Sound returned around 15 to 20 minutes later, greeted by cheers, and the pair pushed into a high-energy hard techno session. Some attendees noted the volume stayed relatively low, with crowd conversation audible over the music. Meanwhile, Magazine Open-Air apologised in a statement, citing a “technical audio fault” that caused “no sound for a short time” and noting a 10PM curfew stopped the venue extending the set.
“We know how much this set meant to everyone,” the venue added, thanking Amelie Lens and Sara Landry for their “patience and professionalism.” Sharing footage on Instagram, Lens wrote: “Love you London! Your energy was unstoppable even if we had technical difficulties.”
The London date extends a growing chemistry between the two. Earlier this year the duo played a b2b at Ultra Miami, and Landry continues to build her hard-dance world following the announcement of her sophomore album ‘Divine Intervention’ via HEKATE. Crucially, both artists head next to headline moments across Europe and North America through autumn, with a highly anticipated Magazine London b2b later this year already lined up on Sara Landry’s schedule.
