Awesome Soundwave, the label founded by Carl Cox and Christopher Coe in 2018, has today confirmed a major new chapter. Notably, the label launches ASW Live, a brand-new series of live events. Furthermore, the launch runs alongside a forthcoming release schedule anchored by a new Sebastian Mullaert and Tamarma album.
The label has spent the past eight years championing artists who create and perform electronic music live. It has released over 80 titles across that period. Meanwhile, its roster reaches from lesser-known live acts like Charlie Thorstenson and An On Bast through to legends including Marc Romboy and Octave One. Now, that philosophy is being brought directly to audiences through ASW Live. The series pairs Awesome Soundwave artists with local talent in venues chosen for immersive underground electronic music experiences.
ASW Live launches in Ireland and Northern Ireland with two events. Both feature live performances from Phil Kieran and Christopher Coe. The first, a free entry event, takes place on 28 August at Pawn Shop in Dublin. Belfast follows on 29 August at The Ulster Sports Club. Crucially, Kieran revisits material from across his three-decade catalogue via synthesis and real-time hardware manipulation. Meanwhile, Coe performs an improvised live Techno approach using Eurorack modular systems.
“In the 8 years we have been running we have released over 80 titles from such a diverse range of amazing live electronic artists,” Coe said. “We have done many live jams around the world and some incredible events from Mysteryland to Awakenings to London’s Wembley Arena, from a season residency at DC10 in Ibiza to impromptu live jams at clubs like Revolver in Melbourne and Sala Sonora in Bilbao.” He added: “With Carl having gone out on the road for the last three years almost exclusively with his live show, and with our constant support of live artists, I feel we have explored so much about the live experience. With ASW Live, we want to create that underground feeling again, where anything can happen and the music can be wild and free.”
The series continues in October with a special Ibiza performance featuring Sebastian Mullaert, Christopher Coe and Stimming, coming together for a live session in a unique location with details to follow. Further ASW Live events are planned worldwide. Alongside the event launch, Awesome Soundwave continues its release schedule with the forthcoming ‘Holds The Sky’ album from Sebastian Mullaert and Tamarma, out 25 September. Following singles ‘Being Colours’ and Mullaert‘s rework of the title track, the album highlights the collaborative approach at the heart of the label.
The launch caps another strong 2026 for Carl Cox. Recently, WRY covered his Skintown film soundtrack news and his UNVRS Ibiza B2B moment with David Guetta. Meanwhile, Christopher Coe is a Melbourne-born, Irish-raised electronic artist whose career spans Kappa Futur, Awakenings and Glastonbury alongside a DC-10 Ibiza residency, plus his Modular Lounge project and Worlds End series of live recordings from remote Irish islands.
