Carl Cox is officially out today with a powerful new remix of Vikthor & Pianoalani's 'Legacy'. Notably, the release lands via Carl Cox's own legendary Intec imprint. Consequently, one of the summer's most emotionally resonant Ibiza sunrise moments now has its official studio version.
The original ‘Legacy’ has closely soundtracked the sunrise moments of Carl Cox‘s UNVRS Ibiza residency across the 2026 season. Furthermore, the record already carried a distinctive emotional identity long before it reached his studio. Rather than replacing that character, the new remix expands it. In turn, the reworked version stretches across 130 BPM and pulls together melodic techno, progressive house and trance textures.
“The original already had a feeling that people connected with, particularly in those sunrise moments,” Carl Cox said. “The challenge was keeping that emotion while giving the record enough power and movement to work in my own sets. It naturally ended up somewhere between melodic techno, progressive house and trance.”
Meanwhile, the arrangement builds patiently around the original’s central melodic idea. The remix introduces rising tension and a larger-scale arrangement built for both expansive Ibiza sunrise sets and peak-time club systems. As a result, the record transports listeners straight back to those life-affirming Ibizan mornings.
