Landing during golden-hour at The Gorge — arguably the most cinematic outdoor venue in North American electronic music — the deep set opened the ABGT700 experience with a slow-burning journey through the Anjunadeep and Anjunachill catalogues. Sharing the set online, the group wrote: “Thank you for dancing with us. Anjunadeep Open Air is live now, tune in on the Anjunadeep YouTube.”
The mix opens with Above & Beyond’s own ‘Eclipse’ from the Anjunachill series before leaning straight into a fresh Yuvee remix of ‘Tri-State’ — an early signal that this deep set would balance nostalgia with new interpretations. From there the trio move through Jamie Stevens & Fixation’s ‘Time Falls Away’ and dip into two of the emotional cornerstones of their Zoë Johnston catalogue: ‘Good For Me’ reworked by Volen Sentir and ‘We’re All We Need’ reshaped by Jody Wisternoff.
PROFF‘s fingerprints sit all over the middle section — from his extended reshuffle of Planet Of Souls & Lily Papas’ ‘One’ to his own remix of Above & Beyond’s ‘Prelude’ and his Tony McGuinness collab ‘Boléro’ on Anjunadeep. The trio also thread in Above & Beyond originals ‘The Cove’ and a Braxton remix of ‘Bigger Than All Of Us’ feat. Justine Suissa, plus a mysterious unreleased ID that will keep the trainspotters busy for days.
The set closes out with Ezequiel Arias & FJL, Bandēs, ANUQRAM & Julian Nates and an Ezequiel Arias remix of kiskadee, Jody Wisternoff & James Grant’s ‘Friendly Fire’ — before Above & Beyond’s own broken mix of Justin Blau & XIRA’s ‘Tokyo’ lands as the final moment of the warm-up. It’s a masterclass in slow-build storytelling and one of the strongest cases yet for The Gorge as the natural home of the Anjuna sound.
