The album brings together a striking cast of collaborators, including Arooj Aftab, Joy Crookes, Nilüfer Yanya, Ichiko Aoba, Nicole Miglis of Hundred Waters and Aanya Martin. Recorded across Los Angeles, Tokyo, London and beyond, much of the album came together during a period at Neil Young’s legendary Broken Arrow Ranch in California, where Bonobo spent several weeks earlier this year.
Alongside the album, Bonobo has announced a run of UK and European shows, following the recent North American tour announcement. The dates will see him debut a brand-new Bonobo Live show, designed by Pierre Claude — whose previous work includes visuals for Air, Gesaffelstein, Phoenix and Caroline Polachek. The European leg opens 3 February 2027 at Newcastle O2 City Hall and culminates 26 March 2027 at Paris’ Salle Pleyel.
The new album pushes further into ambient, jazz-touched and organic-electronic territory, layering acoustic instrumentation with the club-facing production Bonobo has spent nearly two decades refining. It’s a record that trades urgency for space — closer in feel to something you’d sit inside than dance through.
In other news, Bonobo’s prior album ‘Fragments’ set the tone for this new era, one that has increasingly leaned into collaboration and long-form composition.
