The 18-and-over outdoor event was held at Discovery Meadow, a five-acre park along Guadalupe River Park in downtown San Jose. According to the fire department, the concert began at 5 p.m., with the first medical call coming in around 8:23 p.m. Emergency personnel remained on scene throughout the night, with the incident officially wrapped up at approximately 10:34 p.m.

The show was organised by promoters Insomniac and Midnite Events, with a large crowd drawn to the venue for what had been billed as one of the biggest electronic music events in San Jose this year. No fatalities have been reported. The identities of those taken to hospital have not been made public, and updates on their condition are expected to follow through official channels in the coming days.

Incidents like this reflect a broader ongoing conversation across the US dance-music circuit about harm reduction, on-site medical provision and the importance of accessible water, cooling zones and drug-checking services at large outdoor events. Multi-agency response protocols are typically activated the moment attendance-related medical calls begin to cluster, and appear to have been in play throughout the San Jose show.

For the artists and organisers, the priority now shifts to attendee welfare. In other news, we recently covered the wider return of The Chainsmokers to Tomorrowland 2026, where they closed one of the festival’s most talked-about mainstage moments this summer.

Neither The Chainsmokers nor their team has issued a public statement at the time of publication. Updates on the concertgoers taken to hospital are expected from local officials in the coming days. Fans looking for updates can follow the San Jose Fire Department for further official communications.
