Goldie has unveiled a striking new video for the Break remix of his recently released single 'Jungle Daze', filmed on the ground at this year's Notting Hill Carnival. Following the original 'Jungle Daze' video's journey through the formative years of jungle and drum & bass — since playlisted on BBC 6 Music — the remix visual takes the track directly into one of London's most iconic cultural celebrations, capturing the energy, movement and sound-system culture of the day through a vintage camcorder lens.

Reflecting on the film, Goldie said: “I really had FOMO missing this year’s Carnival, especially as it was the 60th anniversary. For me, it’s multiculturalism in this country personified — it’s such a special celebration of British Black culture, community and creativity.”

Break’s remix reframes the track for the dancefloor. Natalie Williams‘ soulful vocal floats through the opening before erupting into a weighty bassline and gritty, intricate drums, pulling the record into darker, heavier territory. The rework and its new video arrive ahead of Goldie’s forthcoming landmark performances at the Royal Festival Hall with full band, orchestra and choir on 14 November.

Titled Dare To Dream, the two Royal Festival Hall shows on 14 November take place as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival. Goldie will be joined by the Elysian Collective, choir and a host of special guests yet to be announced, with the artist also expected to premiere new, unreleased music from a forthcoming project. Blending orchestral composition and improvisation with beats, breaks and his signature reese bass sound, Dare To Dream is being framed as a landmark moment in the drum & bass icon’s career.

Widely recognised as a foremost architect of drum and bass, Goldie has spent three decades pushing beyond the boundaries of whatever genre he’s occupied. From the landmark 1995 album Timeless — a record that fundamentally altered the landscape of British electronic music — to ambitious orchestral works including Sine Tempore, his instinct has always been to expand rather than consolidate. Dare To Dream is that impulse given its fullest expression yet.

In other news, Goldie recently returned with the original ‘Jungle Daze’ feat. Natalie Williams on London Records, setting the stage for this remix chapter.

The Break remix of ‘Jungle Daze’ is out now via London Records. More music from Goldie is set to follow very soon.
