Built for peak-time energy, ‘Grind That’ merges tight low ends with unforgettable vocal hooks and a striking violin breakdown. The track has been picking up steady DJ and radio support since release, including play on BPM Radio and rotation on Poland’s World of House live radio, alongside live-set support from tastemakers running the record hard through their sets.
Talking through the track’s DNA, KASH LOH explained: “‘Grind That’ came from wanting to make something that felt raw, hypnotic, and built specifically for the dancefloor. I wanted the groove to do most of the talking without overcomplicating things. A lot of the process was about stripping elements back, getting the drums and bass sitting exactly where I wanted them, and making sure every sound had a purpose.”
He continued: “The inspiration comes from my love for late-night club energy, house music, and Dancehall. I wanted that Dancehall influence to come through in the vocal, which is why I specifically went for a Dancehall vocalist. At the same time, I wanted the main breakdown to take the record somewhere unexpected, so I brought in a violinist. I loved the contrast of having that expressive violin against the heavier club production — it creates a completely different moment before bringing the energy back into the drop.”
Reflecting on the response, he added: “Seeing ‘Grind That’ reach #13 on Beatport’s Top 100 Bass House chart and #22 on Traxsource, along with the DJ and radio support it’s been receiving since release, has made it especially rewarding because that’s exactly the environment I made the record for.”
