The new version arrived in August via Defected Records. It grew out of a viral moment at Coachella earlier this year, when Moby brought Jacob Lusk onstage for an acoustic rendition of the song. That performance sparked real demand for a definitive club version, and the four artists answered it.

The original ‘Natural Blues’ first appeared on Moby’s landmark album ‘Play’. It sampled Vera Hall’s a cappella ‘Trouble So Hard’ and helped define the sound of turn-of-the-millennium electronica. The 2026 edition keeps that haunted vocal core, while BLOND:ISH brings her sun-drenched Ibiza house touch and Kiko Franco adds percussive, Latin-tinged energy. At the centre sits Lusk, best known as the frontman of Gabriels, whose soaring voice gives the record its emotional pull.

Now the release has visuals to match. Fans who followed this version from the Coachella stage to the club finally get a new way to experience it. Moby has also kept the song close all summer, even performing it with Lusk at London’s Old Royal Naval College.
