Sasha and John Digweed’s ‘Northern Exposure Redux’ is out now. The reissue of their seminal 1996 compilation makes its debut on digital streaming platforms, alongside expanded CD and vinyl editions and a Deluxe Box Set with new artwork and extensive liner notes. We first reported the 30-year remaster back in July.

‘Northern Exposure’ originally followed the duo’s gold-certified UK success with ‘The Mix Collection’. Rather than chasing peak-time energy, it drifted through progressive house, dub, trance and breaks, capturing the atmosphere of their club sets and their early American touring. For many fans, it helped show that a DJ mix could be a complete body of work.

“We didn’t want to just deliver a Saturday night peak-time album. We wanted to capture the whole environment,” Sasha explains. “It also shows the birth of a sound that’s turned into this behemoth of a music scene. The fact that 30 years later, it’s getting re-released is mental, and great!”

The Northern Exposure Redux edition also adds something new. A third disc uses modern production tools to craft ambient reworks and dub interpretations of the classic material, giving longtime listeners a fresh angle on familiar ground.

The release lands as the pair remain as close as ever. Earlier this month, they joined Carl Cox at UNVRS Ibiza for their last island show together this season. Get the reissue via Late Night Tales.
