Sasha and John Digweed are opening their archives. To mark 30 years of ‘Northern Exposure’, the duo has teamed up with Amplifyd for an auction of the exact records they used to build the landmark mix series. Bidding opens on September 30, 30 years to the day after the original release, and closes on October 21 at 4PM ET.

The archive spans ‘Northern Exposure’, ‘Northern Exposure 2’, ‘Northern Exposure: Expeditions’ and ‘Communicate’, with 100 to 125 lots expected. Highlights include God Within’s ‘Raincry (Submerged)’, Rabbit in the Moon’s ‘Out of Body Experience’ and Underworld’s ‘Dark & Long (Dark Train)’, the closing track of the South disc. There is also a 12-inch acetate of The Chemical Brothers’ ‘Enjoyed’, a rare Dope on Plastic acetate that Digweed called a particularly exciting find, and a 777 Productions acetate of Delerium’s ‘Silence’ with a handwritten label. Beyond the vinyl, fans can bid on a ‘Northern Exposure 2’ launch-party guest pass and an invitation from the original Ministry of Sound launch, preserved as a keyring.

The records are drawn equally from both collections, but the pair chose to present them as one shared story. Every item is authenticated through Amplifyd’s hologram service, and none of it is pristine. “We’re selling our copies,” Sasha told SPIN. “They’ve got writing on them, the sleeves have marks or tears, and some are completely beaten up because we had our hands all over them. They were tools of the trade.”

The auction arrives five days after ‘Northern Exposure Redux’ landed via Late Night Tales, and follows Sasha’s first Amplifyd auction last year. The duo’s anniversary run continues at Frontón Bucareli in Mexico City on October 2 and SILO in Dallas on October 3. The auction preview is live now on Amplifyd.
