The album was never meant to go public the way it did. Back in July, Timmy let it slip during an unguarded moment on One World Radio at Tomorrowland. Now the full picture has arrived, and it is far more personal than anything he has released before.
‘REVELATIONS’ was written through the hardest year of his life. During the global shutdown, he famously proposed to his long-term partner live in front of millions online. Two years later, the couple married at Budapest’s Buda Castle. When the relationship ended, he stepped away from festival records and turned to songwriting as a form of therapy.
That journey began in March with ‘Not A Place’ featuring Oaks, which also opens the album. ‘Chase The Feeling’ captures the next stage. It is a bright house record that brings his live trumpet into the studio, built around a big melodic chorus and a hook that lands on first listen.
Elsewhere, the tracklist includes ‘Dance Till I Die’ with Olivia Sebastianelli and ‘All My Life’ with Frank Walker and John Martin. It also features ‘Roses’ with bradeazy and Richard Judge. Moa Lisa appears twice, and the record closes on the solo ‘One Broken Heart’.
Together, the songs move from heartbreak and self-reflection towards acceptance and hope. For an artist still best known for ‘Freaks’, which has passed 1 billion streams, ‘REVELATIONS’ shows a very different side of Timmy Trumpet. ‘Chase The Feeling’ is out now.
