The UEFA European Championship in 2016 will be taking place in France and the Frenchman himself, David Guetta, was selected to be the event’s music ambassador. The world-renowned DJ was confirmed to be providing the soundtrack for this one-month tournament and will be performing the anthem during the event’s opening ceremony.
“It is incredibly exciting…to be part of this huge football tournament in my home country. Music and football go hand in hand when it comes to celebration and enjoyment and I want to help to make this EURO the biggest and most memorable yet.”
Partnering up with FIFA last June, Guetta has recently unveiled the match ball which was developed by Adidas for a year and a half. This tournament is set to kick off on June 10th of next year with France’s team looking to take home the trophy at their own home turf.
