Teaming up with this year’s Game Awards, Hardwell remixes one of the soundtracks from his favorite childhood video game, “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time”. The Dutch producer takes the track from one of the game’s levels, Gerudo Valley, and delivers his musical prowess into Koji Kondo’s original score. In an attempt to unite electronic dance music with video games, Hardwell is successfully breaking these barriers with this smashing Zelda-inspired remix.

For the original version of “Gerudo Valley”, Japanese music composer Koji Kondo provided an adventurous feel appropriate for the legendary game. Featuring a series of beautifully-strung guitars and his iconic orchestral sounds, Kondo’s masterful production was applauded by many Zelda players and music fans from all across the globe. His soundtrack undoubtedly contributed to the success of the Zelda series along with other Nintendo games he took part in, namely Super Mario.

Seventeen years later, the two-time #1 DJ in the world remixes “Gerudo Valley” and brings it into entirely new heights. Hardwell’s remix features the same melody as the original version but rather uses his own signature progressions to build up the track. A sudden burst of energy then arises with Hardwell’s high-octane synths and hard-hitting bass that would simply blow anyone’s mind out. Overall, with this remarkable remix, Hardwell triumphantly takes home the Triforce of Power and showcases that he is still at the top of his game as one of dance music’s best producers.
