Last May, American singer and songwriter Alicia Keys released her latest single titled “In Common”. With its beautiful mixture of tropical, dancehall, and Latin elements, the song has accumulated a lot of support and has ranked high in numerous music charts. Two months after its successful release, Keys’ song received an astounding remix from one of the electronic dance music scene’s most talented producers, Kaskade.

The longstanding EDM artist recently dropped a pair of high-quality singles titled “Fakin It” and “Joris FTW”. Kaskade clearly kicked off summer with a bang as these two tracks certainly solidified his status as one of the most creative and versatile producers in the business. With such great momentum in hand, he blends his stunning deep house sounds with Keys’ always lovely vocals and assembles together this brilliant remix.

From start to finish, Kaskade’s signature melodies and chord progressions are an absolute treat to listen to. Mixed in with Keys’ striking vocals, the remix is truly a total package of several musical components meshing together impeccably. Overall, its mind-boggling deep house sounds and high-level production make this track one of the best remixes of the summer and therefore, its success in the following months should be inevitable. Speaking about the process of remixing Keys’ original song, Kaskade stated:

“I listened to the song and loved it immediately. Alicia Keys’ voice is huge in this vulnerable way. And deep house is just another spin on what she’s doing. I couldn’t help myself. I didn’t even ask for – or get – permission. I pulled the parts together myself, put them back together in my way, and sent it to her.”
