Pioneering the ascent of Big Room to the charts in the recent past were the duo of W&W with their jaw-dropping breaks and dominating synth-work. From the well-known town of Breda, the pair of Willem and Ward joined forces to form W&W and released music with well known acts such as Ummet Ozcan, Hardwell, Blasterjaxx among others. And with the advent of their own music label in the shape of Mainstage Music in mid-2012, they got a new home for their music – polishing and releasing music that they’ve come to be known for. Their latest release ‘Whatcha Need‘ comes in time to be added to their oeuvre, featuring the best of their traditional style and innovative initiative.
Kicking off with a commanding synth-work like in their previous tracks, ‘Whatcha Need‘ takes a different path stylistically as it builds on a funky and upbeat foundation. With detailed samples and vocal snippets, the track is powerful in its structure and production – coming off as a rather polished and unorthodox release. It showcases the tricks and innovation that the duo are capable of behind their production desk. As for the performance decks, the track was first premiered at the Ultra Miami main stage last year and has seen steady support from the likes of Hardwell, Nicky Romero and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. Assured to do well on the charts, ‘Whatcha Need‘ presents another perspective that W&W are able to provide through their production competence while aiming their music for clubs and charts alike.
