Widely regarded as the event that kicks off the Ibiza season, International Music Summit (IMS)’s 2017 edition will take place in under a month, with the finale of the three-day event taking place at the sensational world heritage site, Dalt Vila. The brainchild of Ben Turner, Danny Whittle, Mark Netto, Pete Tong & Simeon Friend, the event has grown in stature and popularity each year, with all important names in dance music flocking to the island each year for “the TED of music conferences”.
Now, with 2017 marking 10 years of connecting dance music culture, IMS Ibiza is focusing on the number 10; and has revelaed a batch of new guest speakers, 10 male and 10 female. The event, which takes place between Wednesday 24th May and Friday 26th May will see talks from the likes of Seth Troxler, Hot Since 82, and Spinnin’ Records CEO Eelko Van Kooten. The event will culminate in the IMS closing party on Friday evening, giving attendees the chance to dance in the open air on top of a 2,500-year-old Unesco protected fort.
IMS co-curator Ben Turner said:
“It is hard to believe its been a decade since the first IMS. We’ve always tried to focus on a singular room of content to help create a dialogue for change and a shared experience – all too rare in today’s fractured media landscape. This is really shaping up to be our biggest attendance to date and we hope its the most informative yet. Even after 10 years, it feels like our work is only just starting!”
