Home Uncategorized Avicii to release new album as two separate EPs this fall

As previously announced, Avicii has new material set for release and now a leaked photograph from Universal Music Sweden confirms the famous DJ will forego a traditional album and release two separate EPs.

The first EP is entitled Lord and is due out in September. Singles will be released next month in August leading up to the first EP. Fan speculation leans toward fan favorite ‘Without You‘ being released as the lead single.

The second EP does not have a revealed title yet but is positioned for release in October. Reasons for the split format point toward stylistic similarities in the first set of songs and the second; Avicii might also be seeking to tell a coherent story as he had with second album Stories.

Following his retirement from touring, Tim Bergling surprised many by splitting from longtime manager Ash Pournouri, the man responsible for not only discovering Avicii but also making the Avicii brand one of Sweden’s top 5 economic exports. He is now with Universal Music Sweden, perhaps to emphasize that as he closes out his late twenties, he seeks to make music primary, not product endorsements and other activities.
