DJ Snake has been relatively quiet in terms of releasing new music since his debut album Encore dropped last fall. He released his Yellow Claw collaboration “Good Day” earlier this year but now he is officially back with his own single. “A Different Way” was initially premiered on top of the Arc De Triomphe, which is an iconic structure in the city of Paris, where Snake threw down an incredible 20-minute DJ set featuring all of his classic productions. The single was immediately met with extremely high levels of anticipation as fans have been more than eager for the Frenchman to release what he has been working on in the recent months. While it was originally slated for a release on Friday, Snake decided to bless fans by dropping it 24 hours early so we could get a head start on the weekend vibes.
“A Different Way” is an easy candidate for one of the biggest tracks of the summer as the season comes to a close and DJ Snake has his eyes set on reclaiming the EDM throne. The single features vocalist Lauv who has had extensive writing credits for artists over the years such as Tritonal, Cash Cash and Cheat Codes. In addition to Lauv, superstar Ed Sheeran was listed in the writing credits as he had a clear hand in crafting the smooth lyrics where you can definitely hear his influence. The track steps slightly away from Snake’s usual heavier production style as it features a downtempo drop filled with his notorious use of vocal chops. The reggae-infused feel primes it to be yet another radio hit for Snake and we cannot wait to see what he has in store next.
