Oliver Heldens premieres new song in mobile game “Beat Fever”

Oliver Heldens has ditched conventional platforms to premiere his upcoming track “What The Funk“. The Dutchman has opted to debut the track a week early on mobile phone gaming app, Beat Fever. The gaming platform is similar to the concept you would find in popular games like Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution and other music based games.

In an interview with YourEDM, Heldens shared his motivations behind the peculiar release strategy for What The Funk.

We were approached by the BeatFever team and it didn’t take long before we realised we could do something cool with them. After that it was just a fun process of creating our own world in the game and I’m really happy with what we ended up with. My team and I are always looking for fun new ways to build hype around a new release so we came up with offering the track exclusively through BeatFever until the official release date on September 27th. It’s not available anywhere else yet!
