Erkka – Museme EP
Erkka, the sonic explorer from Finland, who has been on a one track per year basis till now, has put an EP under Anjunadeep label, which is looked after by Above & Beyond’s Jono Grant’s brother, James Grant.
Erkka Henrikki Lempiäinen, better known to the deep house community as Erkka, had previously released ‘Excommunication‘ & ‘Air Conditioner‘ as a two-track combination on the same label in 2013. With the soothing xylophone inspired noise on both the tracks, he caught the attention of keen Anjunadeep listeners and his musical flair became one to watch out for. The ambiance of the 2013 tracks is one that plays an integral part in all of his productions. Up next was a team up with fellow Finnish artist JS16, in ‘Girls on Film‘ in 2014.
And to treat our ears now, he is back with an 4 track EP on Anjunadeep in the shape of ‘Museme’. The Finnish melody maker showcases his talent with each track. Be it the amazing pitch shifts on ‘Talk To The Hand’, soothing progressive sound on ‘Deep Purple’ or the energy from ‘Rocky’, the EP is an overture to what the artist holds for us in store. But the EP’s title track ‘Museme’ takes the cake with the excellent ambient sounds and chilling melody work.
All in all, the EP is bag full of mystical progressive and deep sounds which surely makes a good listen for a chilly Sunday morning!
