Rudimental’s “Never Let You Go” just received the Don Diablo touch

Don Diablo. The man who has taken 2015 by the reins and gone full speed ahead. After a string of big hits already this year, from originals to remixes, Diablo has certainly proved his status as a genre heavyweight.

Rudimental’s latest single “Never Let You Go” has just been given the golden touch, the Diablo touch. Continuing his fine form, he transports the song from Drum and Bass to Electro House effortlessly. While still maintaining the originals soulful meaning, layered claps, soft synths, piano chords and a distant siren instrumental progress the song to a different dimension. The high-powered nature of Rudimental’s verison is diffused and morphed into more of a melodic, house style song.

Diablo’s signature deep-house drop however is minimised, with a calmer, more progressive sound to usual, enabling the original’s vocals to continue to be looped, maintaining the emotive atmosphere of the lyrics themselves. The Dutch dynamo opts for a more distorted sound compared to usual, yet still delivers a refreshing and unique take on the song.

The remix is sure to be making a regular appearance in his upcoming sets, with its uplifting, inspiring tone. Diablo has not only added to his very credible catalogue, but also proven that EDM has the ability to continue delivering something new, and in turn challenging others to test their creativity rather than stick with a known formula.
