Steve Aoki voted America’s Best DJ

DJ technology empire, Pioneer, combines forces with magazine DJ Times every year for the official America’s Best DJ Poll. Now, to be fair, it’s very similar to DJ mag’s popularity contest. Users go and vote, only with this one, it’s restricted to residents of the United States.

Votes were cast not only from the official site, but also at the America’s Best DJ Summer Tour, where fan’s could vote in person (Similar to DM&LM’s iPad at Tomorrowworld Stunt), but actually official.

This years winner? Steve Aoki. Surprised? Well, you’re not alone. How it is that Aoki beat out other heavy hitters like Kaskade, Skrillex, and Bassnectar, is a bit above all of us, nonetheless, Aoki took the title in stride by releasing the following statement.

I am incredibly humbled and honored to be chosen as this year’s winner. First and foremost, I want to thank all my fans for their support over the years. I am so grateful that I continue to have the best fans in the world. I would also like to thank everyone at DJ Times and Pioneer for all the years of support as well as acknowledge all the amazing promoters that book me in great venues and festivals across North America. Words cannot express how appreciative I am of this award and I look forward to pursuing my passion as a DJ for decades to come

Albeit humble, Aoki has been busy with the release of his second full album, Neon Future II, as well as a national Neon Future tour.  Coming soon is a very exclusive, and very expensive pizza party, staring the cake man himself. Feel free to purchase $1000 tickets, here.
