The rise of electronic dance music has been exponential, unseen, and mightily impressive. Now a leading genre in the music industry, related award’s have taken note of the change in demand and supply of music. Largely thanks to name featured in the categories, the radio cross-over’s have helped bring the creative genre into the spotlight and to the masses.

iHeartRadio Music Awards categories this year have added “Dance Artist of the Year,” and “Dance Song of the Year”. The nominees widely reflect the tastes of American masses, with the likes of Calvin Harris, David Guetta, and Zedd listed. Diplo is nominated twice, once alongside Skrillex as well as Major Lazer. Mr. Probz, DJ Snake and Aluna George also get the nod for the second category nominations.

The awards show turns three this year, and will be broadcasted live on April 3 through TNT, TBS, & TruTV.
