Manse feat. Alice Berg – Freeze Time (MAXR REMIX)

MAXR has been making waves in the American dance music scene over the past 6 months. Switching it up between Baltimore and New Orleans, the budding DJ/Producer has already garnered support from the likes of Apek, Cuebrick, Courtland and Aron Scott, to name a few of the USA’s big names.

With 6 tracks under his belt, MAXR has proven his remixing credentials are worthy of high anticipation. Highlighted by his stellar remix of Hailee Stienfeld’s “Love Myself” amassing an impressive 100,000 plays in just 90 days, the young talent has also remixed the likes of The Chainsmokers “Let You Go” as well feature on the guest mix of Apek Radio’s 12th episode. All in the space of 6 months it’s worthy remembering.

Taking on Swedish DJ/Producer Manse’ track “Freeze Time”, featuring fellow Swede Alice Berg on vocals, MAXR has wisely kept his distance from the original progression and giving it a smoother, melodic wardrobe change. With Revealed Recordings marketing a remix competition around the track, the status and caliber of the Manse’ production is far from clear – adding a little more pressure to re-imagine it.

Exemplifying the beauty of adeptly reforming a track, MAXR provides a symphony of progressive house. Inserting a more tempoed introduction, the catchy vibes are available from the outset. Maintaining the vocal layer, the American has added an extra synth underneath, acting as the source of the more percussive element. Catering it towards a festival atmosphere, the reinvigorated center-piece is a masterful in its entirity.

While the remix is made up of more subtle changes than dramatic insertions, MAXR’s remix of “Freeze Time” curates an animated mood parallel to a soothing reflective state compared to the original.  And in turn, creating one of our favourite progressive house remixes in recent times.
