Music fans around the world will be well aware that female superstar Rihanna has one of the most recognisable and unique voices in the industry. She has delved into multiple genres, from hip-hop to pop and even dance music, having already worked with producers such as Calvin Harris and David Guetta, whilst her solo tracks have been remixed by countless producers. Similarly, Don Diablo has become one of the most respected producers in the scene, taking the future house genre to a new level of heights. So when word broke last week that Don Diablo had put his signature touch to Rihanna’s latest hit ‘Love On The Brain‘, anticipation began building.
This is certainly not the first time that he has remixed a high profile star, with Ed Sheeran, Bastille and Madonna being just a few examples. It is clear that pop superstars respect Don Diablo’s ability to put a refreshing spin on tracks, turning them into dance floor hits with his own unique house style.
The track itself sees a slight change in direction for Don Diablo, who deliveries more of a Trap vibe than many of his previous tracks. However, given the style and tempo of Rihanna’s vocals, it is good to see the talented producer experiment and diversify, stepping out of his comfort zone. Centred around the atmospheric chords that are looped throughout the track, Don delivers a hard hitting drop driven by the chopped vocals and 808 kick, which are underpinned by a host of snares and hi-hats.
Also featured on the remix package are Gigamesh, John Blake and RX Y, which you can listen to in full below.
