The Chainsmokers release official video for “Closer”

The Chainsmokers have come a very long way in a short space of time. Now at the representative helm for dance music within the mainstream, the unique DJ duo can lay claim to multiple tracks more successful than many artist’s biggest tracks.

Evolving majorly since their satire hit “#SELFIE“, charting successes such as “Roses” and “Don’t Let Me Down” have helped grow their massive fan base. Bridging many sub-genre’s such as folk, hip-hop, dance music and pop, The Chainsmokers never seem to over do their musical compositions.

Spending 10 whole weeks at the top of Spotify, “Closer”, their collaborative track with Halsey, has been played all over the place. So it was only a matter of time until it got an official video.

Featuring Drew Taggart himself, the story-line see’s the tracks male vocalist within a number of dramatic and steamy scenes. Joined my Halsey herself in the clip, the relationship portrayed reflects the one described in the lyrics. Already accumulating over 5 million views in under 24 hours, it is certainly proving popular.
