deadmau5 announces eighth studio album, ‘W:/2016ALBUM/’

Amidst all the controversy, deadmau5 just announced a brand new studio album on Facebook earlier today. Following up on his last album while (1<2), the release is set to be the beginning of next month on December 2nd, via his own imprint mau5trap. Basing off of deadmau5’s previous work, there is no doubt the album will surpass its predecessors in quality. The upcoming LP is titled W:/2016ALBUM/, seemingly named after Zimmerman’s file directory on his studio PC, and was suggested by a fan during one of his infamous livestreams.

W:/2016ALBUM/ is Zimmerman’s eighth studio album, and the first one to be produced in his massive brand new home studio. It is also his first independently released album, with no ties to major labels.
