Flume wins total of 8 ARIA Awards
Since breaking through the scene, Flume has turned into one of electronic music’s most prominent and respected producers. He is undoubtedly one of Australia’s most successful exports, with numerous awards and platinum certifications under his belt.
The Sydney-native first caught fans’ attention with his self-titled album and his tremendous growth continued with his latest release titled ‘Skin’. Flume’s 2016 album was able to top several charts and some of its success may be attributed to his incredible singles such as “Never Be Like You” and “Say It”.
With this vast amount of accomplishments already in place, Flume recently cemented his legacy even more by dominating the recent Australian Recording Industry Association Awards. During the event, he won a remarkable total of eight total awards in the categories of Best Male Artist, Producer of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Dance Release, Bet Pop Release, Best Cover Art, Engineer of the Year, and Best Independent Release.
While accepting his trophy, Flume also spoke out against the city of Sydney’s “lock-out laws” that prevents new customers from entering clubs, bars, and other venues after 1:30 a.m. Many people argue that this regulation hurts the cultural growth of the community and Flume is openly aligned with these critics.
