Phantogram – You Don’t Get Me High Anymore (A-Trak Remix)
There’s a certain level of care that must be taken when remixing a class song. Phantogram‘s “You Don’t Get Me High Anymore” is one such example. Since its release, the track has taken on a second life through the huge number of unofficial remixes it has generated.
Now, with such an ambitious task before him, none other than A-Trak decided to turn the dark feel of the original production into a light-hearted track and put a dance spin to it. The result is a catchy, uplifting track which embraces Phantogram’s magnificent composition throughout the song. Respect must be given to A-Trak once again for his dedication to the “F*ck genres” narrative he has represented in the last couple of years. Simple and mellow, A-Trak leaves plenty of room for Phantogram’s lead singer’s smooth, airy vocals during the verses and breaks while building the presence of the glossy pluck synths in the drop.
A-Trak uses slow envelopes to match the soft vocals, together evoking the lazy and comfortable feelings that accompany the early hours of the morning after a fantastic night out. His brand new remix for the rising band throws the heavyweight DJ and producer back into the spotlight with the signature elegance and intuitive musical work we have come to expect from him.
