Hailing from opposite sides of the world, two young prodigies of the dance music scene, Simon Alex and AK9, join together to birth an epic mainroom monster titled “Badlands”. Making its mark as the standout release on Tom Staar’s venerable Staar Traxx imprint, “Badlands” has received vehement support from the likes of Steve Angello, Kryder, and Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman, to name a select few.
Swiftly following his debut solo release “Aviator” in early 2014, Simon Alex became the youngest person to sign on Steve Angello’s Size Records, winning the 15 & under remix contest for “Children Of The Wild”. Racking up support over the following months from standout producers such as Dirty South, Nicky Romero, Ansolo, Matt Nash, and of course, Steve Angello himself, Simon has crafted quite the dream career for himself.
AK9 is no stranger to the electronic dance music world either, forging himself quite a respectable reputation in his native country of Poland. Artur has perfected his craft over the years, boasting notable releases on Spinnin’ Records and Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings imprint, as well as remixes for the likes of Tom Swoon, 3LAU, Borgeous, Black Tiger Sex Machine, and many others.
Their joint collaborative effort emerges as a peak time festival anthem, bound to wreak havoc across dancefloors around the globe. Complete with blazing horns, epic tribal drums and a vocal straight out of hell, “Badlands” is a track you’ll continue to hear a lot of in the coming months.
