Steve Aoki & Lil Uzi Vert – Smoke My Dope

Dim Mak founder Steve Aoki has added another Hip-Hop collaboration to his resume. The American DJ recently collaborated with Lil Uzi Vert to produce ‘Smoke My Dope‘. The two are no strangers to each other, after collaborating on songs such as ‘Been Ballin‘ and ‘I Can’t Lose‘. Other notable Steve Aoki Hip-Hop collaborations include ‘Lit‘ with T-Pain and Gucci Mane and ‘Night Call‘ with Migos and Lil Yachty.

‘Smoke My Dope’ is part of the star-studded ‘Bright soundtrack, a new Netflix original movie starring Will Smith about a human cop and an orc cop on an action adventure. While the movie’s plot sounds like an unlikely combination, much like Aoki and Uzi Vert, the creators seemed to pull it off.

The verses have Uzi Vert’s stamp all over them. Driven by his vocals, ghost-like vocal samples wobble over eerily creepy synths and a heavy 808 kick drum. However, as the drop arrives, Steve Aoki’s signature sound is instantly recognisable. Despite the track being all Hip-Hop, Aoki’s involvement is evidently distinguishable.

In addition to A’Smoke My Dope’, other notable tracks on the ‘Bright’ OST include Marshmello and Migos‘ ‘DangerBastille‘s ‘World Gone Mad and Ty Dolla $ign & Future‘s ‘Darkside‘ (feat. Kiiara).
