Spinnin’ Sessions returns for yet another spectacular episode, showcasing the most esteemed talents in dance music. This time, as well as a round-up featuring some of the hottest tracks in the scene, we have been treated to a huge guest mix from British Future Jack master D.O.D.
Starting off the episode with a tropical deep atmosphere, BLR‘s “Labyrinth” provides the perfect opening, relaxing in its nature while maintaining an upbeat feel. Next up is a brand new production titled “Beautiful Tonight” by Yves V & Sevenn, which is due to be released on Spinnin Records’ SOURCE imprint. Finishing up the mix in style, the final track is a proper treat, featuring PKCZ®, Snoop Dogg & Yultron with their upcoming track “BOW DOWN”, which will be released on Trap City on February 23rd.
As Spinnin’ Sessions heads into it’s second half, D.O.D begins his mix in style, opening with his brand new single “Bones“’, an energetic future jack anthem, with a powerful and uplifting melody paired with a rolling bassline. The mix keeps its momentum as D.O.D‘s collaborative effort with Moksi unleashes another burst of energy, followed up by Nitti Gritti‘s “Fear”. 2017’s festival anthem “Sixes” by D.O.D himself also makes an appearance, before the mix finishes up in spectacular style with some sensational ID’s.
We caught up with D.O.D to discuss his upcoming plans as well as his planning behind the guest mix.
What have you been up to lately?
I’ve been touring a lot recently, but I booked some time off in February to get my head down and get cracking in the studio! I put up a post recently on my socials, asking fans who they want me to collaborate with and there were few artist that kept popping up, so I contacted hem and now I have five collabs on the go! It’s going to be a busy few weeks but I’m feeling super focused and really happy that other producers want to join in on the #FutureJack fun! I have a new track called ‘Bones’ which is in the Spinnin’ Sessions mix and will be coming out on Doorn Records Feb 16th.
What did you have in mind for this guestmix?
I wanted to keep it fun and give a true representation of the kind of stuff people can expect to hear in if they were to see me DJ. There’s a lot of IDs in there, some from myself, some from others. I’m always hunting down original sounding music, it’s something which I love doing. I’ve been developing the #FutureJack sound a lot recently, pushing things forward and keeping the sound fresh. You’ll hear a lot of this in the mix 🙂
