Home Galantis’ iconic record ‘You’ turns 4 years old

Galantis stepped into the scene as true pioneers, they stunned and shocked the house music world with their funky, fresh, and innovative approach to music production. In the tangled collection of all their biggest records, one stands out in particular. “You” was released in February of 2014 and received much support and appraisal. The two Swedish masterminds Christian Karlsson and Linus Eklöw are deeply rooted in the dance community. Eklöw is also known as Style of Eye, and the duo also appear in Miike Snow and Bloodshy & Avant.

One of the most notable dance songs of the year, “You” peaked at number 19 on the US Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart ran by Billboard. The catchy piano line stands as one of the most powerful elements of the track. Combining that with the anthemic vocals and super big sounding groove, “You” showed to the world just exactly what Galantis is capable of creating. It was released as the second single from their debut EP Galantis in 2014. It was originally written for Britney Spears, and was to be titled “I’ll Remember You” for her eighth studio album Britney Jean.  However for unknown reasons, it was cut from the album and used by Galantis.
