Lost Frequencies feat. James Blunt – Melody
Belgium is certainly one of the most important countries when it comes to Electronic Dance Music. It’s the home country of Tomorrowland, which is undoubtedly one of the best festivals in the world and it’s the origin of many renowned DJs and producers. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Yves V, and Coone, to name a few. A perfect example that you do not always have to go hard to throw a party is 24-year old Felix De Laet, better known under his stage name – Lost Frequencies. After his breakthrough hit ‘Are You With Me’ in 2015 multiple other Deep House tracks followed. Lost Frequencies even played his own dedicated show at Lotto Arena in Antwerp. Now, he released his collaboration with famous English singer James Blunt: ‘Melody’.
After the latest released by Lost Frequencies, ‘Crazy’ featuring Zonderling took radio station around the world by storm, his newest tune is set to do it all again. Lost Frequencies and James Blunt might sound like an unusual collab at first, but it is nothing short of amazing. ‘Melody’ is not the first EDM track for the 44-year old singer from the UK (‘You’re Beautiful’, ‘1973’…). Last year, his track ‘OK’ together with German superstar Robin Schulz was a worldwide success. ‘Melody’ consits of typical Lost Frequencies’ mellow beats and synthesizers. Together with the unique voice of James Blunt, the track is set to become another sommer hit for the young Belgian producer.
With his latest release, the producer from Brussels strengthens his status as one of Belgium’s finest exports. ‘Melody’ will be played at festivals around the world. Lost Frequencies himself will have the chance to showcase his music at one of the biggest stages in the industry, right at his home in Belgium. He will take the Mainstage of Tomorrowland during the first weekend, and even will have his own stage ‘Lost Frequencies and Friends’ on weekend 2 again after last years big success.
“I’ve been a really big fan of james blunt the past years, i love his voice and music! To make a track together is something I didn’t even would have dream of a few years ago, but here we are !!!”
“I’ve always been a James blunt fan and when I got asked to do a remix for one of his tracks we started talking and I proposed instead of doing a remix, it would be cool to make an original track together! That’s when James sent me the demo he had of « Melody », where I started working on immediately! I did bunch of different versions of the track, always checking with the whole team what they thought of it, until the final version was made and everybody loved it! It was a fairly quick process, considering we both were gone a lot on tour and doing a lot of other projects, I’m super happy we found a version of the track where both our worlds are perfectly balanced”
