Being a successful DJ and producer is certainly one of the most profitable jobs you can have. ‘One Kiss’ producer and international renowned Scottish producer Calvin Harris is undoubtedly one of the richest person in the industry. Now, the Sunday Times has revealed a list of the richest musicians in the UK and Ireland. The list includes both the richest artists in general as well as the richest ones under the age of 30. Not surprisingly, you can find Calvin Harris on both of the lists amongst other influential artists.

According to the Sunday Times, Calvin Harris has a net worth of around £140 million, which makes him one of the 20 richest artists in the UK and Ireland. Other than that, the rise of wealth for musicians under 30 is really impressive. The top 3 of the young generations are Adele, Ed Sheeran, and Harry Styles. The curator of the Sunday Times Rich List, Robert Watts, found the right words for this remarkable rise of net worth:

“For years our music millionaires list has been dominated by older acts, such as the Rolling Stones and Sir Elton John, who have older audiences able to pay a premium to see their favorite acts. But some of the biggest risers over the past year have been amongst younger acts such as Ed Sheeran, Adele and Calvin Harris. Streaming services, the internet, and income from endorsements are helping today’s young musicians build an international following — and with it their fortunes — far quicker than the older rockers.”

The spot of Calvin Harris on the list shows how much EDM has grown over the last couple of years. Especially Harris’ music, that drifts away from classical mainstage festival bangers to more chilled and house vibes, has helped establish the popularity of electronic music around the world for a wide audience. Check out the top 10 of both Sunday Times Rich Lists below!
