Kygo x Imagine Dragons – Born To Be Yours

Currently stealing the tune of the summer with their hit ‘Whatever It Takes‘, Imagine Dragons have teamed up with electronic hit-maker Kygo, bringing together the indie-rock and electronic universes with their summer tune ‘Born To Be Yours‘.

Born To Be Yours‘ is only Kygo’s second single release of the calendar year, following his tropical tune ‘Remind Me To Forget‘ with R&B sensation Miguel. Certainly in line to cool off the mid-summers heat, the tunes chilling vocal passes and melancholy ambiance bring out a new side of each artist. Featuring Kygo’s frequently popish allure and signature tropical house synth leads, but ultimately it’s Imagine Dragons swooning top-line that steals the show on ‘Born To Be Yours‘.

The indie/rock musical group are no strangers to working with top tier artists including Eminem, Wiz Khalifa, Logic, Lil Wayne, Ty Dolla $ign, and X Ambassadors, however, working with Kygo is the groups first experimentation on an original project within the electronic genre and frankly it seems a successful go. With Imagine Dragons currently embarking on their summer tour, the musical group is already plastered all over top 40 radio between their most recent summer hit, ‘Whatever It Takes‘, and continued play out of other favorites from their latest album which debuted this time last year entitled ‘Evolve‘ it wouldn’t be a surprise if ‘Born To Be Yours‘ also made rounds on the Billboard top 40, seeing as how both artists individually are consistent staples and nominees for awards on Billboard charts.

With Imagine Dragons sitting at the 29th most streamed artist in the world and Kygo at the #34 spot via Spotify, the duo should theoretically command the Global Top 50 playlist with this release. With both camps reeling in excitement about the release, hopefully there are more collaborations between Imagine Dragons and the upper echelon of electronic music’s finest producers in the future.
