Where Ibiza is concerned, there is arguably no venue more famous or universally worshipped than the iconic Ushuaïa. Having played host to a number of the island’s most star-studded residencies, the venue never fails to provide an unforgettable experience for its attendees. This year, Ushuaïa’s residencies are even more magnificent than ever before, and will see a number of high-profile artists perform faultless sets in front of huge crowds. Last week, David Guetta returned to Ushuaïa for the next chapter of his BIG residency, where he was joined by American power-duo The Chainsmokers, Dutch duo Deepend, and German star LOVRA.

LOVRA kicked off proceedings with a euphoric set featuring a selection of recent hits spanning the electronic music spectrum. Her unique energy uplifted the crowd, and enabled the atmosphere to reach an exceptional height very early in the event. Next up, Deepend provided a showcase of some of the world’s most high-profile electronic releases. One of the highlights saw the duo drop Otto Knows‘ ‘Million Voices‘, which sent the crowd into a frenzy.

With a burst of ferocious energy and a mindblowing opening sequence, The Chainsmokers instantly made an impact on the crowd. They performed a number of their most high-profile hits including ‘Closer‘, ‘Roses‘ and ‘Something Just Like This‘, which they mashed up with Avicii‘s iconic ‘Levels‘, creating a stunning moment. Their set effortlessly walked the balance between aggressive bass weapons and melodic anthems, providing an adrenaline-fuelded experience for attendees from start to finish. Their level of influence was clearly demonstated by the crowd’s excitement and eagerness to sing alone to every single song, which lifted the atmosphere in the venue through the roof.

Met by an overwhelming roar of approval, David Guetta took to the stage, opening with his recent hit ‘Like I Do‘ with Martin Garrix and Brooks. He also performed a number of other anthems including ‘Bad‘ and ‘Titanium‘, which echoed around Ushuaïa with a earthquake-like force. The breathtaking pyrotechnics took the performance to the next level, leaving attendees completely in awe. As the show came to a close, the atmosphere reached its peak and the crowd roared with approval one last time.

David Guetta’s BIG residency will continue through the summer every Monday until September 24th. He is due to be joined by The Chainsmokers again on July 16th for another unmissable showcase of talent. On other dates he will be joined by the likes of Afrojack, Alesso, Don Diablo, Oliver Heldens and Robin Schulz. With such a star-studded lineup for each date across the summer, it comes as no surprise that this residency has proven extremely popular.

Here’s what David Guetta had to say about his residency:

“I’m so excited to be back at Ushuaïa with BIG for another summer season on my favorite island. I love to spend my summers in Ibiza and to play that amazing venue. It will be my seventh year working together with the Ushuaïa team and I can’t wait to return! Expect amazing lineups and a BIG production!”
