Home Music Tech House Ultra Europe 2018 sees Hardwell adapt his typical set sound

After some new news surround the Dutch path pavers upcoming single with Blasterjaxx entitled ‘Big Room Never Dies‘, Hardwell is back in the spotlight again. This time however, the dutchman isn’t being praised over a new single, ID or tune, it’s regarding his recent live performance at Ultra Europe where Hardwell favored a much more house inspired set. The main man who’s been consistently rinsing progressive house, electro, and big room since 2012 has taken a much larger swing to the tech house, and deep house sides of the spectrum.

Leading off his set with his recent release ‘Conquerors‘, his set from the open slowly began shaping into a house inspired one. The uncharacteristic set, also saw a few ID’s not necessarily from the man behind the decks either – along with those ID’s there were plenty of recognizable tech house tunes in the opening 20 odd minutes of Hardwell’s set such as Fisher’sLosing It‘, and DJ Snake & Mercer’sLet’s Get Ill‘.

In the grand scheme of things maybe Hardwell wanted to use a big stage like Ultra Europe to test his new house inspired tunes. Or maybe with Tomorrowland right around the corner the dutchman is trying to conserve not only a bit of energy but also his arsenal of tunes and ID’s for a special moment in Boom. Who knows – at the end of the day we’re only spectators to the wondrous craft that is DJing.

The more Hardwell’s set progressed the more you saw that signature flair only Hardwell can bring to a stage, however many will wonder following his Ultra Europe set opening just what direction he’s indenting to take his sets moving forward. Take a listen to what was recorded of the Hardwell’s Ultra Europe livestream below and be the judge of if you enjoy the new set selections or not.
