Above & Beyond take over Hï Ibiza for special Anjuna take over

Rare occasions are often beneficial to those that get to witness or partake in whatever occurs. Things like reunions, comeback tours, and other similar events may not happen often, but are more than likely a highlight for the lucky attendees. With one rarity comes another in Ibiza, as whilst the legendary Armin van Buuren takes a vacation from both A State Of Trance and Hï Ibiza residencies, it was the turn of Above & Beyond to step up and take hold of the latter, with an Anjunabeats special take over at the iconic Ibiza club.

With Armin van Buuren’s Wednesday night residency providing one of the highlights of every white isle attendee’s trip, it would always be a tough task to cover for the Dutchman. Very few acts are both of a similar calibre and also hold the same ability to provide for the crowd. However, the trance trio of Tony McGuiness, Jono Grant, and Paavo Siljamäki do better than most, and brought their Anjunabeats crew to take over for the night. Supported by the Scottish ‘mini-Prydz’ who has contributed to Anjunabeats through compilations and tracks like ‘Price Of Love‘ – Grum – and the phenomenal UK producer who has an expert collection including ‘Endorphin‘ – Oliver Smith – the night was in full flow with trance vibes radiating through the incredible venue. Paavo was not in attendance, however that didn’t stop Tony and Jono ripping the Spanish isle apart with A&B classics, new music, and frequent set tracks. With Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano bringing the house sound to the Club Room along with Mark Knight, Above & Beyond truly continued the main room trance vibes that Armin has embedded into Ibiza culture every Wednesday.

The set was, unfortunately, not recorded, apart from a few fan videos taken, one of which is in particularly high quality and shown below. Go and check it out… maybe it’ll inspire you to venture to the white isle of Ibiza, or an Above & Beyond set.
