Calvin Harris & Sam Smith – Promises

2 British heavyweight musicians have joined forces to debut a new, potentially chart smashing tune. That’s right, Calvin Harris and Sam Smith have just released that their newest collaboration, ‘Promises’. The Scottish DJ and producer is no stranger to producing massive club and radio hits and this track definitely builds on the success of his collaboration with Dua Lipa ‘One Kiss’ from earlier this year. Driven by Sam’s incredible vocal performance and a super catchy bassline, the song builds in energy and emotion before introducing a smooth beat creating a truly memorable summer vibe.

The pair recently spoke on the Boogie & Arlene show on Radio Clyde about the records, with Calvin Harris reportedly saying he had the “easiest job in the world” working with the Sam Smith who can perform “effortlessly”. Sam also described how the idea of a collaboration was born earlier this year.

“I hit up Calvin over Instagram about four or five months ago and just said I’d love to work with him. We’d spoken about it a few times over the years but everything just fell into place this time. We had an amazing day together writing this song.”

Sam Smith took to his Twitter to announce the new tune last week, surprising his global fan base. Amidst his massive world tour, Sam hasn’t been focused on releasing, he’s simply been focusing on his performances. It’s in the blink of an eye however that Sam could potentially have one of the biggest hits of the closing summer months with his collaboration with Calvin Harris.
