Canadian DJ/Producer JayJay has released a spine-tingling remix of deadmau5 & Rob Swire‘s latest collaboration ‘Monophobia‘. The original, which was apart of deadmau5’s 8-track ‘mau5ville: Level 1’ EP, peaked at #1 on Beatport’s Electro House chart, and after more than 2 months, is currently sitting in the top 20!
Similarly to the original, JayJay’s remix opens up with soft chord progressions and Rob Swire’s smooth vocals, while an arp melody rings in the background. As the double-tracked vocals and bass enter the mix, the track’s intensity lifts, grabbing the listener’s attention, before the drop takes an unexpected twist. Punchy kicks, heavy basslines and gritty synths all unify to create a unique contrast to the break’s mallow nature. Contrary to the original track’s more progressive nature, JayJay’s remix undoubtedly boasts a stronger Electro House influence.
Boasting a strong following, all 4,000 of his loyal Soundcloud followers have helped some of his best works such as ‘The Old Me’ and ‘Hardkorr’ notch up more than 60,000 plays per track. JayJay is also an avid Twitch streamer, often inviting his viewers to take a sneak peek into his Ableton Live sessions.
