Germany’s New Horizons Festival has enjoyed the success of its second edition after coming to a tremendous close last week. Grand stages, dazzling visual displays and stunning pyrotechnics all combined to unite with some of the best acts electronic music has to offer, spearheaded by the likes of Armin van Buuren, Axwell Λ Ingrosso, Felix Jaehn, Steve Aoki and many more.

In just its second year, New Horizons has established itself as one of Europe’s premier electronic music festivals, attracting almost 70,000 fans alongside 100 spectacular DJ’s this year. Visitors from more than 25 countries flocked to Nürburgring to witness the grand event. Among others, travellers from Canada, Australia, Israel, England, Denmark, Spain, Russia and the USA were part of the unique kingdom and its beautiful atmosphere.

After the unique pre-party at the campsite and the pool party on Thursday evening with Empra and Valentine, New Horizons opened their gates for all travellers from all over Germany and the world on Friday afternoon. Munich DJ Jack Borst, who won the contest of Musikdurstig in cooperation with DJ Mag Germany and Alda Germany with his remix for the festival hymn, opened the main stage, Capital Park.

Nadja Gardener, responsible for music & lifestyle sponsorship of the Warsteiner-Brewery, made the following statement:

“As a partner of New Horizons, we are really happy that we have created a great atmosphere on the camping ground with our ‘Warsteiner Campground’ this year. Our ‘Musikdurstig Stage’ with varied DJ-Booking, Beer-Yoga and Rave Aerobics became a great success. As part of the strategy to promote new talented artists with musical thirst, we’ve been able to offer Jack Borst his biggest appearance of his young career so far. In the advance, he won in a big remix contest against more than 100 competitors and gonna open the Mainstage on Friday”

Following Borst, Alle Farben and Felix Jaehn, among others, began to take over and set the scene for heavyweights Axwell Λ Ingrosso and Marshmello, as they brought the heat. Armin van Buuren made sure Friday was a day to remember with his mesmerising set, going strong into the early hours of the morning. Hardwell and Timmy Trumpet made sure fans were treated to their Big Room House fix, while Headhunterz and Ran-D proudly flew the Hardstyle flag. Pyrotechnics, lights, lasers and video effects including the moving sound and brilliant beats ensured absolute escalation in front of the main stage.

Allan Hardenberg, CEO of ALDA Germany summarizes the special moments and impressions:

“The second edition of New Horizons was a huge success! Almost 70,000 thousand travellers came to our beautiful kingdom. The iconic location of the Nürburgring and the surroundings provided a very special atmosphere. Together with the energy of the travellers and the more than 100 DJ’s, the kingdom was really amazing. I am extremely proud of what we have done with the whole team for a second year in a row and can not wait until next year”.

After the festival’s immense success this year, New Horizons festival is already looking toward next year! The festival is set to grow even bigger, taking place from August 21-25, featuring an extra day at one of Germany’s most legendary racetracks. The festival is set to open the pre-party on the Wednesday of that week. With ticket sales commencing on September 24, the first tickets for five days will be available for all loyal travellers. Non-camping tickets will begin at 99 euros and camping tickets will start at 139 euros. All information on the aftermovie, pre-registration and presale will follow during the coming weeks.
